ACG IT supports and services ACG-owned equipment only. Personal computers are not eligible for hardware repair, replacement, or internal component modifications by ACG IT. Students should arrange any required hardware repair directly with an external qualified technician, the device manufacturer, or an authorized service provider.
What ACG IT can and cannot do
ACG IT can provide support for ACG-owned equipment. However, it cannot open, repair, replace, or modify internal components on a student's personal computer. Hardware repairs for personal devices, including issues involving batteries, screens, storage drives, memory, keyboards, chargers, or other parts, must be handled externally.
What to do when your personal computer needs repair
- Back up important files before arranging a repair, if you can still access the device. Save your work to cloud storage or another secure location.
- Check whether the device is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, insurance policy, or service plan.
- Contact the manufacturer, an authorized service provider, or an external qualified technician to discuss the issue and obtain repair advice or a quotation.
- Follow the repair provider's instructions for booking the repair and preparing the device for collection or drop-off.
- Take any required accessories, such as the charger, if the repair provider asks for them.
