ACG Alert is The American College of Greece’s official emergency notification system, powered by Everbridge, a leading global platform for critical event communication.
Everbridge enables the College to quickly communicate important safety and emergency information to the ACG community through multiple communication channels.
What is Everbridge?
Everbridge is a mass notification and critical event management platform used by organizations worldwide to:
- Send emergency alerts in real time
- Communicate urgent safety instructions
- Notify the community about campus closures or disruptions
- Provide updates during critical incidents
Messages may be delivered through:
- SMS (text messages)
- Voice calls
- Mobile app notifications (if installed)
Everbridge ensures that critical information reaches community members quickly and reliably during emergencies.
Who Is Included in ACG Alert?
Faculty & Staff
All faculty and staff are automatically included in ACG Alert as part of the onboarding process.
During onboarding:
- IRM provisions institutional services (email, accounts, system access, etc.)
- Contact details from official HR records are used to enroll employees in Everbridge
- No separate action is required to be included in the system
Faculty and staff will receive alerts through their institutional contact details.
Students
All enrolled students receive an invitation from IRM at the beginning of their studies to subscribe to ACG Alert (Everbridge).
The invitation allows students to:
- Activate their Everbridge account
- Log in to the platform
- Confirm and update their contact information
- Add additional contact methods (e.g., mobile phone, personal email)
Students are strongly encouraged to keep their personal information up to date to ensure they receive emergency notifications without delay.
Students may log in at any time to review and update their contact details.
Keeping Contact Information Updated
Accurate contact information is essential for effective emergency communication.
- Faculty & Staff: Contact information is maintained through official HR records.
- Students: Can update their contact information directly within the Everbridge platform at any time.
