Starting or resuming an attempt
If there is no time limit, you can open the assessment and begin working without submitting right away.
If your instructor has enabled the “Prohibit Late Submissions” setting, your attempt will auto-submit at the due date if you haven’t submitted it manually.
- Select “Start attempt” to open the assessment.
- If you're not ready to submit, select “Save” and “Close” to save your work and return later.
- When you return, select “Continue attempt” to resume your work.
If there is a time limit and a due date, these specifications will be under the “Details” section at the top. After you click “Start Attempt,” a message will appear asking if you want to start the timer. When the time is up, your work will be submitted automatically. If the time is not finished and you want to submit your work, click “Submit.”
Edit your content
After you add content, open the menu and select “Edit” to make changes or add more content.
You can edit settings for the files you have added. Select a file in the editor and then select the “Edit Attachment” icon in the row of editor options. You can add a Display Name and Alternative Text. Alternative text describes the image for people who use screen readers or visit web pages with images turned off.
Test Taking
When you take a test in Blackboard, every detail is right at the top of the page: the remaining time and date, the number of attempts, and the maximum points. Every time you select an answer, it’s automatically saved by the system, so there is no risk of losing your answers. If you lose your internet connection, a notification message will appear at the top. A similar message will appear when it is restored.
At the end, when you want to submit the test, click the “Submit” button.
